atih blocks computer shutdown
Been getting consistent blockages by atih when I try to shutdown/restart the machine. A message pops up stating that atih is doing some operations and I only need to wait a couple minutes for the machine to shutdown/restart. A couple hours later I'm still staring at the same message.
This used to occur when atih was in the process of doing a backup, now it happens every time I try to shutdown/restart the machine. My backup tasks are set to run after midnight, yet atih won't let the machine shutdown/restart at any time of the day.
Seems to have started recently. How do I regain control of the shutting down/restarting of my machine?

Looked at it, but, have a question: is this something I need to do everytime I shutdown the computer?

I followed the advise from this thread:
https://forum.acronis.com/forum/100836?page=1
Post #51 has advise on what services to disable. Worked for me.
Also, downloaded the Acronis schedule manager: https://kb.acronis.com/SchedulerManager
I had a bunch of dummy tasks, killed them as well.
Don't know which fix stopped the shutdown hang, but, it's not doing it now. ymmv

You would only need to run the ScheduleManager when a shutdown problem is persistant. You should try enabling the processes you disabled one at a time with shutdown, restart between each one and see if the problem occurs again.
Essentially that process would work like this, enable the process/service, shutdown computer, restart and then shutdown again looking for the problem to reappear. If the problem does not appear then enable the next one and repeat the process until you have exhausted the list and re-enabled all disabled processes.
This procedure could help narrow down which process/service is causing the problem. A system report could then be generated when/if the problem reappears and forwrded to Acronis Support along with details of your findings which would help in resolving the issue.
