Cannot add an existing .tib backup file from another computer

Thread needs solution

I use Acronis True Image 2015 to backup an external HDD to a .tib file and then I use the "Recover Disks" feature in that backup window to clone another HDD from that .tib file.

However, I need to do this with a different .tib file created on another computer, but cannot add the existing .tib file as a new or existing backup onto this computer.  Acronis will only list the .tib file that it created and not the one from another computer.  I am using Windows 10.

When you click the program option "Add existing backup" and then browse to the location of the specified Tib files,

After you click or select the file in questions, is the "add" option available or greyed out?

It does not even list the other .tib file, so I cannot click on it.  It only lists the one created on this computer.  However, both .tib files show up in Windows file explorer.

John,

Are you starting with the "Add existing backup" and then you starting the browse action.  In this option, it is up to the user to know where the tib files is and browse the that locat ion and then click on the x to cause the add action to appear.

Yes, that is how I am doing it.  I start with Add Backup > Add Existing Backup and then browse to the folder containing both .tib files, but it only lists the original one and not the new one from another computer.

GroverH,

OK, I can see the new file now.  I changed its extension from .TIB to .tib (i.e. lowercase) and it showed up!  I am trying to proceed with the recover disk operation next.  Your replies helped me to relaize that it should be working ok and for me to look a little deeper.
