Acronis True Image 2016 won't access external drive files.

Thread needs solution

This problem started after the latest Win 10 upgrade and also after the latest Acronis upgrade. Not sure which one is causing the problem.

From within Acronis Ture Image 2016, I can locate the external drive, but can't open any files to locate the storage folder. Win 10 can find the storage folder however.

Are you referring to backing up from or restoring from the external hard drive?  With Win 10 and True Image 2016, I can backup from an external hard drive, and backup to and recover from a NAS without problems.  It may be a windows 10 upgrade issue.  I installed True Image 2016 after I did the upgrade to Win 10 though, because I ran into a problem with Norton Ghost working after the Win 10 upgrade.

I have a Win7 desktop and a Win10 laptop and just installed Acronis 2016 on both.  Had used TIH 2011 for a long time and just upgraded.  TI 2016 seems to recognize both my Fantom 2TB and Fantom 4TB externals just fine with either machine.

So are you saying you are unable to navigate to any FOLDERS on your external drive in which to tell TI 2016 to use as your archive location?  Or am I misunderstanding you completely?  Which model external drive are you using?

As for future backups, stop using any old tasks from prior versions and start fresh with all new backup task with new task names ponting to new storage folders.

This link will show you how to add existing tib backkup so as to appear in your listing of tasks.

Yes , I am unable to to navigate to any folders on my external drive. I can navigate to the external drive , but not to any folders. The external drive is a Toshiba Canvio 2tb drive.

I just uninstalled TI 2016 and reinstalled TI 2016 build 6027.

I found the problem, I was unable to scroll down to see the files. Couldn't see the scroll bar. It's there but very hard to see.

Thanks for your input, it got me thinking
