Can a new full backup of large data drive be paused?

Thread needs solution

I have a large amount of data to back up to my NAS drive.  True Image estimates it will take about six days to complete the first full backup and then I go to incremental after that. Do to software updates including Windows 10 automatic updates, it is unlikely that I can leave my computer alone for a full six days. I stopped the backup so the computer could be restarted and then went back to start the back up, but it started the full backup all over again instead of picking up from where I last stopped it.  Is there a way to pause the initial full backup without having to restart it all over again?

There is no way to pause the backup. How big is the disk you are backing up? How much is used?

+1.

Can you not exclude some data to reduce total data transfer = speed up backup?

A couple of suggestions...

1 Check the data transfer rate to your NAS drive and see if it can be improved.

2 Can you break your backup down into several tasks and selecting specific folders or partitions for each task.

I am backing up a Drobo drive that has 5.85TB on it with a capacity of about 11TB.  That is being backed up to a NAS drive that has about 11TB capacity on it and currently only has the fresh backup data used, so lots of space available at both ends.

Yes, I could break down the data being backed up into smaller chunks, each with a separate named backup task. That's sounding like the best way to go.  Thanks all for the speedy reply and ideas!
