Upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10
I have Acropnis True Image 2011. When trying to upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 (offer from Microsoft) I am asked to delete Acronis 2011 since it is not compatible wit5h Win 10. I deleted Acronis 2011 with special deletion tools, checked regisatry, usewr entries m etc. etc., no Acronis files, drivers etrc found. However, when trying to upgrade to win 1o, I stll get the 2 messages:delete "Acronie True Image Home 2011 Acronis " and "Acronis True Image Acronis". Has anybody made the same experience when upgrading from Win 7, 8.1 to Win 10?
Support from Acronis does not help at all in this matter, frustating.

Thanks for reply, yet I did everything (cleanup utility, cleaning registry, etc, etc,) , no success. I dont know, wherefrom the Win 10 upgrade gets the input about Acronis TI 2011,,,?

Perhaps you could download and install the 2106 Trial version. That may help.

Thanks for input, I alrady have purchased Acronis TI 2016, which is said to be compatible with Win 10. After installation and restart I get the same message, I should first delete Acronis True Image 11 when trying to upgrade to Win 10. By the way, I am disappointed from Acronis TI 2016.

Hi Gents,
Christain,
If the W10 upgrade is prompting you to uninstall 2011, then something of it remains. A file, folder or registry entry. Both 2011 and 2012 also included Windows Control Panel Integration that trumps Windows Back Up. If this feature was enabled, this too could be the source of the issue.

Thanks for input, however could not find anything similar to Acronis in Control Panel Integration. But I agrree, somewhere in my funny PC the name Acronis True Image 2011 must be available (hidden) . I have of course checked the entire Regisatration with search for Acr, Acronis, 2011, True Image, with the F3 search option... Nothing found. A miracle that seems be be unsolvable... :-)

Do you see anything in Device Manager? True Image Mounter?

No, everything (files, registratiuon, dreivers, upperfilters, ertc, etc) is clear of any Acronis reference. There is another item with the WIN10 upgrade which makes me wondering (see attachment). Windows says that my PC is compatible with Win10, hoever there are files which are not comapatible (= Acronis True Image 2011..). The date of the "last execution" on this win 10 upgrade page names December 23, 2015. At that time Acronis was installed. Perhaps this is the rootcause of the problem. Win 10 upgrade seems to still pont to this date. But, how can this date be changed to an actual situation? It really is a strange matter...
Thanks anyway for your input.

I agree, this could be cached information. I think you may want to try and force the update readiness tool to run again. See if you can right-click on any of the menus and find an option called "Check My PC". Or attempt to proceeed with the upgrade which may force it to check again. Once the files are downloaded, the upgrade gives you the option to upgrade now or defer. If you have already downloaded the files, then open windows update and enable the option to upgrade to windows 10. I think this appears in Recommended updates (maybe Optional, don't recall) and is checked by default for you. This should force the tool to run again.
2/6/2016 **** I performed a Windows 10 upgrade today on a machine with v2012 installed. I opened the windows 10 upgrade notification in the system tray. In the top left corner there are 4 little horizontal bars. When you click here, a context menu opens. "Check My PC" is one of the options. This ran and told me Acronis 2012 must be removed. I ran the uninstall from Program and Features, then ran the clean up utility following all instructiuons, each step. Before restarting, I removed a few registry keys that remained. Restarted and ran the upgrade. It checked the system again before downloading the files. Nothing was flagged as being incompatible. 35 minutes later the PC had W10.

Thanks a lot for your valuable input. In fact, I found Acronis 2011 in ProgramFiles (86)/Program Files/Acronis, etc. Deleted manually and checked all other4 .exe file names you mentioned with tool "everything.exe". Nothing found anymore. However, ..., win10 upgrade still says : delete Acronis True Image 2011 manually first.......strange. If I find a solution (however why/how should I ?), I will report back to you. Thanks again!
