ATIH "Freaked Out" Last Night!
Sorry for the subject/headline, but I don't know how else to describe what happened.
I had ATIH 2016 set to do several different backups every night, with each set to delete backups older than 7 days. It has been running fine for several days. When I woke up this morning and checked my backups, there were about six of each one that ran last night between midnight and 6:00 a.m. There were SO many, that my external hard drive got maxed-out. Then, when I went into ATIH to see what had gone wrong, all of my backup settings had disappeared. Gone! So I re-entered them and exited ATIH. Then I went back into ATIH and they had disappeared again, so I re-entered them again. Exited, and when I went back into the software all of my setting were, again, gone. I then ran the repair program. Re-entered ATIH, set up my backups, and exited. Went back into the software and the settings were...you guessed it...gone.
So I then did a complete/clean uninstall of ATIH, dowloaded the latest version, and reinstalled the software. So far, it appears to be holding my settings, but the real test will be if the backups are properly accomplished tonight.
Can anyone tell me what happened? Is this a common or known issue? Is there anything I can do to prevent it from reoccurring?
Thanks!

Hello SoCalScott,
Thank you for your posting! Do you have any running anti-virus software on your PC? If yes, I would recommend to make sure Acronis related processes are allowed and trusted in your antivirus product.
- Acronis Software: Making Acronis Products Compatible with Antivirus Software
- Acronis Software: Exclude Program Folders and Executables from Security Programs
Thank you!
