Painfully Slow
Hi first post - used your products in the past - used THIS product in the past.
On my home machine Windows XP Pro w SP3 Acronis takes over a minute to move from screen to screen
My machine is an AMD Pheonom quad core with 4gb of ram - and it's doing NOTHING other then running acronis right now.
What gives? I don't think it's your software per se as I have installed it for clients and family no problem... but when I go and buy a copy for myself it is horidly slow.
Acronis True Image home 2010 build 7046
Any ideas? it's unusable this way :(
Thanks

If you have to wait for Tech, you might try doing an uninstall/reinstall but first using msconfig to disable all non microsoft startup services and all start up programs. Then reboot and uninstall and then reinstall.
If there is a driver conflict that mucked the installations, sometimes this can help get things back in the right order.
You can get info on using msconfg on various win OSs here:

OK - it seems that Acronis has trashed my system not once but twice since installing it. here in the locked topic we have a known issue with nonstop backup http://forum.acronis.com/forum/10568 - That acronis knows there is a problem as of 6/2/2010 (6 days ago) - There are all kinds of posts about it running poorly/ slowly.
in this thread: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/6964 Mark complains about the time he has invested ... I've reloaded my machine from scratch twice now, and twice this software has not only failed to protect my data... it has caused the problem! in post #15 Acronis states mark will get his money back. I'd like the same option.

Hello Mighty Quinn,
Unfortunately, now we're prohibited to process with the refunds on forums, we're really sorry for that. Please submit a request to support and ask for money back.
Thank you.
