cannot create a database

Thread needs solution

Why is it when I try to open Acronis 2016 I receive this message cannot create a database? Nothing has changed on my computer. This must be a problem on the Acronis side.

Somehow files were corrupted in "C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database". I deleted the files in this directory and the program opened normally. One local backup reported missing file and I told it to ignore. It created a new full backup. Another local backup ran fine. Cloud backup ran fine. Hopefully this will help people who experience this problem from wasting alot of time doing a clean install.

Unfortunately this didn't fix the problem. The problem reoccurred. I had to do the usual uninstall, reboot, cleanup, reboot, reinstall and reconfigure. I guess you have to live with this if you want to use Acronis TI 2016.

I saw another post where the user renamed the database folder adding OLD to it and let the app recreate the folder which fixed the issue.  Doesn't help you now I know but maybe in the future.
