Disk Director 12 XP 'installation interrupted' -- does not install and removes files

Disk Director 12 XP  'installation interrupted' -- does not install and removes files.

Goes thru the two long green bars of the installation, then waits 3 or 4 mintues and decides not to install, green bar backs up and no installation.

This is an older XP computer, lots of space (not 3tb) and most things work on it. I disabled the antivirus and malware programs but that didn't help.

well I downloaded another copy direct from the Acronis Email and it installed quickly and seems to work at first glance!

I first downloaded it from the Acronis web page I was directed to from another email.

Files have the same number of bytes.

Perhaps a cosmic ray...
