[TI2010] Error code 0x000B03EA
I have a task which performs a full backup every day and keeps just the last 7 backups. This seems to work fine, but the logs are showing errors since the task has started to delete the oldest backup (consolidation).
I'm getting the error:
16 Error 09.11.2009 18:42:58 Backup date can not be found.
Here is the error part of the original German log file:
14 Information 09.11.2009 18:42:58 Austehende Aktion 140 hat begonnen: 'Partitionsstruktur sichern'.
15 Information 09.11.2009 18:42:58 Backup-Archiv konsolidieren Speicherort: "E:\Backups\LW_C\MeinBackup_09.11.2009_18h35m.tib" Ziel: "E:\Backups\LW_C\MeinBackup_09.11.2009_18h35m_EF901C2B-C801-46B6-A455-D1A53C61EB7B.tib"
16 Fehler 09.11.2009 18:42:58 Backup-Datum kann nicht gefunden werden.
17 Information 09.11.2009 18:42:58 Aktion erfolgreich.
What's going wrong here?
I've already updated to the latest build (6029), but the error remains.
Regards,
Peter Bonge

Peter,
You and I are not the only ones experiencing this. See this thread: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/4414.
The consensus seems to be that old backups do get deleted despite the error in the log. (I have not been watching closely long enough to be sure). If so, Acronis may classify this as a lower priority nuisance error. OTOH it looks like it occurred in TI 2009! I'd sure like to see it fixed.
My bet is there are several threads on this here and possibly in other forums.
Best,
Jim

0x000b03ea Still lives, at least as far as my backups go. About 1 time out of 5, I get the same error. I am left wondering if my backups are any good with no guidance from the vendor nor a solution after six or so months of people having the problem.
I am seriously questioning why I am using a software product that has errors that are unresolved by the vendor and who sees it as their duty to have customers pay for the privilege of getting answers to buggy software. My thinking is that if your software malfunctions or throws errors, you should resolve them for you clients at no charge.
Now, Acronis, will you step up to the plate and resolve your errors for you customers?

Hello Peter and James,
Please accept our apologies for the delays with the response.
It is a known issue with consolidation, however, it doesn't anyhow affect the created backups integrity, so you are able to restore the data backed up without any difficulties.
Our developers are working on the issue, so it'll definitely be fixed in future builds of the software.
As a possible workaround, I may suggest you to have a look at oracledba's chain2gen utility. You can find the complete instructions on how to use it at GroverH's guide (Section 3A).
Please reply to this thread if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Hello
I am working with Acronis 2011 and have the same problem. I checked for update but I am using the actual version of acronis 2011.
I would think that after more than three years your support should have found a solution for that .....
Can you help?
Best wishes

Obviously Acronis didn't find a solution until today. I'm working with Acronis True Image 2013 Build 6514 and this error still occurs.
I'm making incremental backups of my files every day. Two day's before I made a consolidation of my backup to delete older Backups for the first time. Since I've did this, I'm getting this error. But my Backup cancels, I'm not able to make any more Backups on this Backup.
What's going on? Are the developers working on this or not?
Best regards
Simon

As the problem is now an old known problem, may be Acronis has solve it!
Could you tell me what I have to do to avoid this message?
