Joe, sorry but we will need more information in order to try to assist you?

What is the context for this "fatal exception in interrupt" message?
What actions were taken before the message was given, i.e. have you just rebooted, restored from an image, suffered a system crash, ....?

There are lots of hits on the message in searching Google, many of these related to Linux distributions such as Ubuntu - what operating system are you running here?

Please provide more background on what you are trying to do and what you've done up to this point which led to this error.  The more specific you can be, the more likely someone can assist.

Once the selection screen appears during the boot process you should see 3 options.  I think the 3rd option is start up parameters.  Choose that option and type acpi=off and press enter.

Now select your boot menu option.

8 yr old Dell laptop clone to new Dell laptop followed all instructions hit restart now after a few minutes the dos screen appeared with 20 lines and that being the last

Joe, are you trying to directly clone from an 8 year old Dell laptop to a 2016 new Dell laptop?

If so, there have to be significant hardware differences between these systems, especially with regards to disk drive controllers, BIOS, MBR versus UEFI, NTFS versus GPT etc.

Is this the Windows system drive that is being cloned?

Are you using the Universal Restore boot media?

Joe,

If you are attempting to restore an Windows backup image of an 8 year old machine onto a new machine from within the Windows installed True Image application STOP!

I agree with Steve above on this that the machine hardware is totally different and completely incompatible!  Further, you should only be attempting to recover a Windows System drive using the user created recovery media.  Doiong so from withon the Windows installed application is nothing but trouble.

Explain in detail what it is that you are doing so that proper advice can be given.
