Can't open file with ATI backup

Thread needs solution

I wonder why files with backups sometimes can't be opend. When I try a message pops up saying "the path can't be opend, access denied". As a result validations are not possible. However, the recovery via CD works fine. So, access is possible when using the recovery CD.

A frequent cause is the power setting which allows the storage disk to sleep when not in use.  What are you using for the storage disk which is not being seen or recognized?

Another possible cause can be an usb device such as a flash drive or camera gets attached to the computer and Windows assign a different drive letter to the backkup storage disk.

Hi, I'm afraid this is not the solution tp my problem. The backup is being stored on a seperate harddisk in the computer - with fixed drive letter. The energy management ist set on max. power.

Hello origando,

Thank you for your posting! Is it possible to open an archive in Windows Explorer (double click the backup file)? I would recommend you to re-create the product's database. Please do the following:

- Stop all Acronis services and rename:

C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database

- Start services;

- Re-add backups to the GUI and check if the issue is resolved.

Thank you,
