Bootable Media and Validation Failure

Thread needs solution

Here is the situation, which I have been asked to repeat having posted it previously in an ATI earlier version forum.

BOOT MEDIA VALIDATION FAILURE

  1. Create a backup image using the ATI 2016 Windows application.
  2. Create a backup image using an ATI 2016 Bootable Media CD.
  3. Validation of both .TIB files succeeds when using the Windows application.
  4. Validation of both .TIB files fails when using the Bootable Media CD.
  5. This problem is the same using a Windows 7 SP1 build, or a Windows 10 build on a completely different hardware platform.

Has anybody got any ideas regarding this issue?
It is likely to be a bug in the Bootable Media creation tool.  How about a fix?
I have never encountered this problem with earlier versions of ATI, which I have been using for nigh on 15 years.

Stephen, please see post https://forum.acronis.com/forum/78472 which seems relevant to your questions, in particular, are you using Linux based rescue media when validating from that environment?

The standard recovery media is Linux based which means that different device drivers are in play as compared to those used in Windows, thus the recommendation is to build the Windows PE rescue media and validate from that instead.

Stephen,

Thanks for posting here....As Steve S. recommends, a WinPE recovery media is the way to go.

My apologies to all!  It's been quite a while since I looked at this Forum, mostly this is because I discovered (to my amazement!) that ATI Bootable Recovery Media (CD) will successfully validate and perform recovery reliably from an ATI created .TIB file.

I will take a look at the WinPE method as soon as I have the opportunity, so for the present, many thanks to both for taking time to look and advise.
