Drive Monitor produces questionable results
I've been using Hard Drive Inspector for some time, so when I saw the ad for the Acronis product, I was naturally curious to see what IT reported.
I installed it, and right away, it raised alarms about the health of my drive! It claimed it was at 30% and at risk of imminent failure! So, you can imagine my level of panic when seeing this.
The drive being examined is a 2.5-inch SATA Fujitsu laptop drive, is less than two years old, and has never exhibited any problems. So, I downloaded the most current Fujitsu drive scanning utility and ran it. The health test took nearly two hours to run, but when done, it reported NO PROBLEMS with my drive and rated it at 100%!
So, I then downloaded and installed the latest trial version of Hard Drive Inspector and ran it. Like the Fujitsu utilities, Hard Drive Inspector shows no problems with the drive and also rates it at 100%
So now, I have two products which claim no problems with the drive and rate it at 100%, and one product that claims imminent drive failure and rates it at 30%. Which of these do you think I'm going to believe?

Sorry ... been busy and haven't responded before this.
But I read the linked thread and applied the changes, and now, I get 100% for the drive -- as expected.
Thanks for providing the detailed information on how to work around this problem.
