Deploying image from larger drive to smaller
I'm attempting to restore an master image that i took of a 500 GB drive (100gb used) and restoring it to the smaller 256 SSD drive. Each time i try i get a failure. I created the master using the defualt settings.. do i need to do something different?

I've tried both of those options and they both fail, I'm wondering if my master is taking the whole drive and not just the actual used.

What's the size of the master image .tib? How big was the data on the source drive where the image was taken as well (actual data in use)?
IF there is a dirty bit on the drive, I believe Acronis will default to sector-by-sector. Try running "chkdsk /f /r" on the destination drive first (before deploying) and also on the source drive before creating the image for deployment.
Are you deploying from the console or from the offline bootable media with the stand-a-lone version? I would try the stand-a-lone version and be sure to ignore errors automatically during the deployment and see if that makes any difference.
As long as the source image (when expanded) is less than the destination drive (actual capacity) it should work. Keep in mind that there is some overhead with compression and your drive space also needs to account for the hidden partitions (MSR, MBR, recovery partition). If the image is close to being the full, usable size of the smaller disk, chances are you just don't have enough space.

Good Morning,
Master Tib is 92.8 GB
I will restore the image to a drive of the same size and run the chkdsk
I'm deploying from the server directly to the PC.
Ok this is wierd, I tried sending the image to a different Hard Drive which is the same size as the one if was pulled from and it fails instantly. I might need to just start again.

Yeah, I'd try using the offline bootable media wiht your .tib file to see if it restores or not. If it does restore, that would suggest the image is OK, but teh template on the deployment server is bad or the networking between the server and the destination system is having issues.
If it doesn't deploy with the offline bootable media (even when attached with a USB hard drive using the same .tib), then the backup file itself may be corrupted or bad.

@Bobbo_3COX1 Can you route me to the tutorial on the offline bootable? I inherted this from my predecessor. Google has been my best friend for the most part.
NM found it.

Good deal. It's pretty straight forward. There are no templates involved with stand-a-lone, but you can generalize hardware and/or change SID on the fly durin g the deployment process. The man test for your case is verifying if your image is working and, once deployed, the system boots up as expected. If it does, then probably time to rebuild a template on the server and try deploying again from there. I actually like the stand-a-lone offline method with Snap Deploy quite a bit. If you're not deploying too many systems each week, it can be a good solution/work-a-round for small offices.

And here's the full online Snap Deploy 5 user guide - just in case

It threw 4 errors one of them something to do with unable to open .tib. I did run the validator on the file and it said it was good. Could it still be a issue witht he .tib?

I think so. The fact that it is bombing in the console and the offline media seems to point to a similar issue with the .tib and/or the storage location (hard drive) of where the .tib is located. Is it on a network share or a usb hard drive? If networked, can you copy the image to a USB and try to recover it from that instead - same issue or good? If already on a USB drive, run "ckdsk /f /r" on the drive and see if is shows any disk errors - if the disk is going bad, it could be the culprit or it could have damaged the .tib backup.

Good Morning,
I got it to restore to a 500GB traditional HD but another issue, The standalone will not see the SSD, The Bios does but not Arconis. Any idea?

What type of SSD? Is it a traditional SATA SSD, or one of the newer PCIE-NVME drives? I haven't tested my offline bootable media with my NVME drive yet - I've had to use Acronis True Image WinPE builder with ADK 6.0 installed to get it to recognize with that product. Not sure if the Linux bootable media for Snap Deploy has the necessary driver yet (I'll try to test tomorrow), but unfortunately, WinPE in Snap Deploy does not have the stand-a-lone utility. You might have a valid support case if you're unable to restore and need to use the offline media if drivers are not available in Linux. Otherwise, if you're willing, you could purchase a single license of Backup 11.7 which would allow you to create winPE and it also has SID changer and hardware generalizatin on the fly.

Hmmm, that's a strange one. There are no special drivers needed for standard SATA hard drive. We image with stand-a-lone ot 850 EVO's a least a few times a week.
Try formatting the drive in Windows first (initialize it). Then pop it back in and see if Acronis can detect it then. It may be looking for an initialized disk and if this came straight out of the box, it probably isn't yet.

One other though, if that doesn't work on its own, when you setup the disk, format it as either GPT or MBR to match the original image disk format. However, make sure the bios is configured the same way for support.
If booting into the offline media and your seeing colorful menus - your in CSM\legacy mode. If you're booting to black screen with white numbered entries, you're in UEFEI mode. You may need to use your bootoverride/one time boot menu to select the other mode if you've initalized the disk and it still isn't being detected by the bootable recovery media.

So I was able to run Chkdsk /f /r on the drive and it fixed ALOT of issues. After that I made a Image of the Drive and was able to deploy to the SSD without issues.
I want to thank you for all your help and guidence on this issue. I could have potentially been stuck on this for a few more days.

I'm trying to do the same thing. I imaged a 500gb HDD from an Optiplex, and I want to put that image on a 256 SSD. Acronis bombs out at the end of the deployment wizard, saying there isn't enough disk space.
256gb SSD has alreasdy been formatted. The image file is 164GB. I havn't run chkdsk on the 500gb drive, I just find it difficult to believe thats the problem.
