Custom backup scheme won't save

Thread needs solution

I'm setting up a new backup and when I try to save a custom backup scheme with automatic cleanup turned on, it will not save it..... the custom backup gets saved, but the options are left at default, so doesn't do what I want....

I've tried removing the product completely several times and re-installing, but still behaves the same way.  It used to work ok, but something happened and now it works for nothing.

my version is 2015 PC build 6613 and it says that's up to date...

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Paul,  

Can't say for sure what the issue is exactly.  However, when you did the uninstall and reinstall, did you do it through control panel or using the Acronis Clean tool?  If you didn't try the clean tool yet, go ahead and give it a shot.  Be sure to run the script by right clicking and "run as administrator" even if already logged in with an admin account (this will give it the highest privilges possible).

Please note that there are some registry keys to check for afterwards in the instructions.  After it runs, also check to see if any of these folders still exist and manually delete them if they do:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis     C:\Program Files (x86)\Common\Acronis     C:\Program Files\Acronis     C:\Program Files\common\Acronis     C:\ProgramData\Acronis   (this one is a hidden folder so ensure that hidden files/folders is enabled).

After the cleanup tool, registry checks and folder checks, reboot before reinstalling.  Then make sure to reinstall using the right click "run as administrator" option again.  Hopefully all is well after that.
