Acronis Cloud Storage

Thread needs solution

3 QUESTIONS REGARDING ACRONIS CLOUD STORAGE SUBSCRIPTION, 250 GIG:

1.  WHAT CAN I USE IT FOR.  BACKUPS FROM ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE?  OR CAN I SEND OTHER THINGS TO THE CLOUD AS WELL?  I CAN FIND NO INFORMATION AS TO WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES, OR HOW IT WORKS.

2.  HOW DO I REGISTER IT?  ALTHOUGH I'M TOLD ON THE WEBSITE I HAVE IT, IT IS NOT LISTED AS ONE OF MY PRODUCTS, SO I'VE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REGISTER IT SO FAR.  DO I EVEN NEED TO REGISTER IT?

3.  HOW DO I FIND OUT HOW TO USE IT?  I CAN FIND NOTHING ON THE WEBSITE OR IN MY SUBSCRIPTION DOCUMENTS ABOUT HOW  IT WORKS OR HOW TO USE IT.

PS:  I DID NOT REQUEST THIS.  I WAS SIMPLY CHARGED $49.95 AND INFORMED BY EMAIL THAT I HAD IT.  WHO DO I TAKIE THIS UP WITH?

Geoff,  Acronis cloud storage is currently only for Acronis backups and/or Acronis Sync

If you bought the product through Acronis it's already registered.  Once installed on your machine (Acronis that is), when you launch it, it will ask you to sign in with your Acronis Account - that should be it.  If you're having  issues and that's not working, contact Acronis support and they shoudl be able to help you out.

For the most part, you setup your backup and if you select your destination as the Cloud, that's pretty much it.  It is a bit slow (especially depending on your ISP UPLOAD speeds).  It may not be suitable as your only backup location (local is much faster - say a USB 3.0 hard drive), but the cloud gives you offsite disaster recovery which is nice.

If you were charged and you didn't ask for it, you may want to contact your bank and see if your account has been compromised.  You may also want ot reach out to Acronis customer service to find out when and why it was purchased.  If you had a previous cloud subscription it may have auto renewed, or someone purchased it with your information, or there could be an error with the purchase that sent it to you instead of someone else that it was intended for - we have no way of knowing in the user forum.

I've used true image for several years. I just started with treu image 16 and it decided that aaai need to use the cloud and I can't sign in. How do I defeat this?

Hi Jack,

It should use the same login information that you use to sign into your Acronis Account online.  Are you sure that you purchased the Acronis Cloud version and not the standarnd (non cloud version).  If so, definitely open a chat with customer support.  They should be able to square things away relatively quickly if your login is not working and you have the correct version.
