mutliple computer backups to the cloud

Thread needs solution

how will it appear in the cloud when i back up more than one pc to the cloud when using the same acronis account?  Will each PC get its own separate listing in the management console?  i do not want the backups to mix together into one backup.

thanks,

Jim

James, as far as I understand all your data for different computers will be held separately and be easily identifiable.

See the following KB documents that may answer your questions about using the Cloud.

https://kb.acronis.com/content/56529 - about the Family Dashboard.

https://kb.acronis.com/content/48500 - using the Cloud (based on ATIH 2015 but still valid for 2016).

Yes, you name the backups whatever you want so that's how they will be displayed - be sure to get the name right because you can't change it once the backup task has started.

On the main pc where the cloud backup is initiated from, the backup task names will show up in the local backups with the otehrs but will show underneath the name that they exist in the cloud.  Other cloud backups taken from other systems that are associated with the account will show up with the name they were created with, but below the local ones in a category of "other backups" when viewed from a system other than the one they originated from.  You'll be able to see all cloud backups via the Acronis Applicatoin on each system and/or when logging into your cloud access.

Thank you, Steve and Bobbo!  I'm looking forward to setting up some cloud backups and having some peace of mind with my backups being offsite.

It's  a nice feature for sure - although slow.  I'm not sure how much data you need to push to the cloud , but check your upload speed with speedtest.net (download speed has no impact here since you are seeding upward).  I believe the Acronis Cloud servers are primarily in Boston so when you run your upload test with speedtest.net to a server in that area to get an idea of actual upload speeds.  I average about 5Mbs upload even though I have 100Mbps download. It took close to 2 weeks to get 500GB of data initially seeded to the Cloud.  Daily bakcups only take a few minutes now though as I don't have any major data changes (most of mine was family photos).

I'll take slow offsite storage (especially with unlimited data) over none anyday.
