Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS x86_64

Thread needs solution

I am trying to install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 (latest build) on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS x86_64.

This is what i have done:

Installed dkms and ia32-libs

Downloaded BackupRecoveryServerLinux_d_en.tar.gz och unpacked, which gave me an folder

with 4 files:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 97628584 2009-08-20 09:10 AcronisBootableComponentsMediaBuilderLinux.i686
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 20777632 2009-08-20 09:10 AcronisManagementConsoleLinux.i686
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 13760576 2009-08-20 09:32 AcronisUpgradeToolLinux.i686
 

Tried to run ./AcronisManagementConsoleLinux.i686 which starts but ends with this error message:

"package ManagementConsole-10.0.11105-1 is intended for a i386 architecture"

According to the installation instructions 64 bit platforms is supported.

Need advice on how to troubleshoot or repair this issue.

Yes, our program does support 64 bit systems. Could you please let us investigate the issue and do the following? 

Please download the Linux System Report utility available from here

- Unpack the archive: # tar xvf sysinfo.tar
- Make the script executable: # chmod +x sysinfo
- Run the executable: # ./sysinfo
- Send us the created system information archive file

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the issue appears and the link to this thread. We will do our best to investigate the problem and provide you with a solution.
