ASRM will not activate on Win7 Pro boxes
Hi.. I am relatively new to this product and seem to be having some problems..
I have only been trying to use this ABR 10 (50 licences) on my Windows 7 boxes so far, I have a mixture of 32 and 64 bit systems. I am creating personal vaults on them off 100Gb and then running a back up of the C and D date to these personnal vaults. However each time i try to run the ASRM acitvation locally or from the console it fails..
Please can you offer me some assistance with this..
The error details are:
Failed to activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. Additional info: -------------------- Error code: 2 Module: 229 LineInfo: afb16d6892913781 Fields: $module : C:\Program Files\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\mms.exe Message: Failed to activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager. --------------------

Thanks for your response.. I will try to PM the report to you in a few minutes..
I had already tried using the recovery CD (both the old version and the lastest version) but get the same results.. I tested it on a selection of Windows 7 boxes and had the same issue with everyone of them, I also noted when using the CD that I was unable to see the ASZ and make a backup with it..
I must state that my department will be directing me towards obtaining a refund for this if we cannot get a full functional setup achieved soon.. It was my idea to purchase this product based on previous releases etc and they are not very happy with how it fails at the first hurdle, its making me look like an arse..
Your help is appreciated with this..

Thank you for the information provided! I have carefully checked it. So here what we have:
Logs shows us the following error:
<...message="Failed to activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager: the required files cannot be found. Try to reinstall the bootable components." />
Thus it is most likely that the issue will get resolved by updating the components. Logs also indicate that you have build 11345, when the latest is 11639. So here's the plan:
- You will remove current version of Acronis Backup and Recovery from all machines by means of Acronis Clean-up Utility.
It is highly preferable to install onto the clean machines due to we can currently only guess what caused the issue, and we need to exclude all possibilities. - I will send you the link to the latest build and to the bootable components.
- You will install the software latest build and test whether it resolved the issue
- Should the issue be present, you will update the components according to the instructions I sent
This should help us to resolve the problem. In case the issue persists, regather Acronis Info and send it to me, I will check it again and find another solution.
