Acronis won't stop

Thread needs solution

Ever since I disabled one of my two hard drives, Acronis seems to be running continuously and when I try to shut the computer down, Acronis will not allow it to shut down for 2 minutes, which is highly annoying.  The scheduling is set to Never, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. After I disabled the old HDD I made a new full backup of the remaining  one to my external drive and a new .tib file was created.  However I suspect that Acronis is still searching for the old HDD - how might I tell it to stop doing that?

Hoping that somebody better informed than myself can help ...

Barry, what version of ATIH do you have installed? The latest v6559 should fix this.  However, if you have Nonstop backup configured, this may still be common since NSB runs every 5 minutes and may be backing up during shutdown.  Cloud backup could also be running or another scheduled backup.  If you're still on v6027 or earlier, please upgrade to the most recent version and you should see the message less, or not at all, unless something is actually running in the background.

Thanks for the prompt advice; it worked, sort of. While blundering around looking for the version number I realised that there was a second backup listed, which I had somehow set up while trying to sort out an earlier problem. (Of which I have had several: I don't find Acronis at all easy to drive).  Once I deleted the old backup, which was pointing at a now non-existent path, a little error message went away and the computer now shuts down correctly.  Thanks once again ... Barry

Glad to hear it!  If you're not familiar with the basic product functionality, check out the information and videos posted here:
