How to Change Acronis Startup Recovery Manager Delay Time

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I would like Change Acronis Startup Recovery Manager Delay Time.

I have Acronis True Image 2016

I had read --> 49958: Acronis True Image 2015: How to Change Acronis Startup Recovery Manager Delay Time

But in Acronis True Image 2016 it seems different, any file describe in the note exist on 2016 version.

Somebody knows to change the delay in 2016 version?

Regards

Good question, I'm not sure either.  I find the files in the Universal Restore folder, but not the same location as the 2015 article.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\UniversalRestore

Perhaps try modifying them and see if it makes any difference, but not sure if it will or not though.  I believe if you contact chat support for this, they should still be able to help out though since it is a product setting and there is no apparent updated KB article for 2016 on this and the 2015 one may not apply in this situation.

I don't use ASRM and don't have it configured, so that could also be why I'm not seeing it.  Personally, I have dedicated backup space for Acronis on drives and manage access through basic Windows file shares and permissions to avoid any extra layers of issues. I think ASRM has some usefulness in certain situations, but can possibly cause more trouble than good (depending on the setup and usage).  There are others in the forums who end up with windows bootloader issues (usually UEFI systems with improper bios configurations, but hard to always tell). To avoid this type of situation, I stick to a trusty USB flash drive with the bootable recovery media and have never had a problem getting Acronis (or Windows) to boot after using it.

Thank you for your reponse.

I used TrueImage 2010. And when I would do a backup of my active partition (C:) , I boot or restart my PC and I choose F11 to startup in TrueImage (and not windows) and do a COLD backup of C partition.

Now I obtain TrueImage 2016, that works too, but I cann't reduce the time. When I boot my PC the PC stay on "Choose F11 to boot on Acronis" during 30s and any other key permit to pass this menu.

So I do your advice. I create a boot DVD and USB, and when I want to perform a cold backup of my operating system (C:) I use a bootable media.
