True Image 2013 on Windows 7 - adding new memory?

Thread needs solution

Hi I have True Image 2013 running on Windows 7 Home desktop. It has 8Gb RAM. If another 8Gb RAM stick is added into the remaining existing slot, will this constitute a channge of hardware that the TI 2013 will not recognise if I need to recover the whole disk? I know that when recovering to new hardware the Plus Pack is required, but does adding some more memory count as new hardware? Also, I did find a reference to recovering to a new hard drive which seemed to be possible, though not as straightforward as recovering to the existing computer.... what are the limitations here for choosing a new hard drive if using the standard TI? It seemed from what I read that it may be possible to have a larger hard drive, but it needs to be mounted by the same connection type... ie replace SATA with SATA or IDE with IDE.... should the memory and/or hard drive be the same brand...what other considerations are there to ensure that the recovery would work? I am looking at getting more memory, but possibly also a new hard drive... in which case I would need to use the recovery function to put everything onto the new drive. If only adding new memory, it would only be a concern about recovery if I needed to do it down the track... thanks for any advice.

Hello, there should be no problem with installing either more memory or upgrading to a larger hard drive.  This will not affect your licensing for ATIH 2013 nor affect any recovery actions.

When upgrading the hard drive it is best to keep with the same type of drive where possible, if you have IDE then an upgrade to a larger IDE drive is straight-forward.  If you have SATA the same applies if upgrading to a larger SATA drive.

Migrating from IDE to SATA is a little more problematic.
