Cannot "connect" / login via network

Thread needs solution

I have a network of four computers at home.  Network works, can log into computers, computers talk to each other, user logged in can access network files, etc.

One computer has a very large hdd and I use that for storage from the other computers.  I upgraded from Acronis True Image 2011 to 2016.  When I select Disk and Partition Backup I get the selection screen and select the entire disk.  Then I get the Target Backup screen. For backup location, I click BROWSE.  I get the Browse for Location screen.  I click Computers near me and get a list of computers that are on the network, they all show up.  I click the computer where I want to put my backup and I get an authentication screen.  I put in the administrator username and password.  I get a message "Connection Failed" and Verify user name and password.  The account is active and used all the time to log into the computer.  Network is active because I can click on a different computer, get the authentication screen, put in the administrator user name and password and it connects and shows me drives and folders.  I would backup there but the drive isn't big enaough.

The network is up, functional, works.  The user name and password work, locally.  I can authenticate one but not the other.

It used to work perfectly under ATI2011...  What happened?  I don't need to load a client as the one computer let's me connect and I did nothing special.

I even tried putting the fully qualified path and name in.  Fails the authentication.

What to do?????

Thanks

Hello Robert,

Please see KB document: 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials which has details of how / where Acronis stores credentials for network resources.  Your issue may be that the credentials are either stale or held differently since upgrading from 2011 to 2016.
