Scheduled backup completes with errors: 0x0004000D

Thread needs solution

My scheduled backups always end with two errors: The first is event code 0x0004000D (Details: blank), immediately followed by Event code 0x00640005 (Details: Operation has completed with errors)

Searching the forms for the first event code yields nothing. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

MW

Hello Nikhil,

Let me help you.

Most likely, the issue was caused by the malfunction of Acronis Scheduler, which is a component of Acronis Backup Software. So to fix it, please update that component the following way:

  1. Download the latest build of Acronis Scheduler;

  2. Run the downloaded file. It will automatically update the service;

    See if the issue is resolved. If it is not, then please proceed with steps 3 and 4:

  3. Reboot the machine;
  4. Recreate the scheduled tasks.

If the issue still persists, please collect AcronisInfo output and submit a support request.

Please reply to this thread if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Hello,

I have the same problem as Nikhil and solution described above doesn't work for me. Can you help me please? I've send question on technical support yesterday but with no answer at this time....

Hello Tomas,

According to our system, you've already received several replies from our support engineer.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

Ok, here is my reply to support engineer:

I think that I've found reason of my errors. I've tried run clone of scheduled backup with another backup file destination and everythink was ok. Destination which produced error 0x0004000D was 2.5" SATA HDD connected tu USB 2.0 through USB 3.0 external enclosure from Digitus DA-70557 Rev. 1-0 . When I run clone of scheduled backup with destination on internal HDD or USB flash disc, it runs without mistakes. So I've tried packed folder with 400 jpeg photos directly to USB HDD on Digitus and next the same folder packed to internal HDD. When I compare this two files in totalcommander, there was diferences in its contents. So it looks like errors in firmware of digitus DA-70557, do you think? But it will be better if Acronis True Image Home talk more precisely reason of error which happens to him.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry about the delayed response - I wanted to see what would happen at the next scheduled (monthly) backup.

I have updated the Acronis Scheduler, have not tried recreating the task yet; However my error message has changed so I thought I should post that. This error also happens if I start the scheduled task manually (use "Start" on the "Tasks and Log" tab), so not sure if this is a problem with the scheduler...

Here is the error I receive now:

Any help is appreciated, Thx

Hello Nikhil,

In that case we need some additional information from you.

Could you please collect AcronisInfo tool output and submit a request to support with the gathered information?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Hi all,

I have the same problem of MW, a backup with acronis home 2010 (not scheduled) end with 0x0004000D and 0x00640005 at verify step, is the first backup of an incremental backup. I tried also to update the scheduler but nothing is changed. I'm trying to backup my photo directory (is about 100GB).

I tryied also with Acronis True image 2011 beta but the verify step always fail (with different error code).

I did my backup from an internal PATA disk to an external USB disk, I see the message of Tomas Halasz, can be the external disk the problem ?

Best Regards
Roberto

Hi Roberto,

I recognize that this problem was in my case when external disk wasn't accesible because the external drive failure. I send it to manufacturer and with the other one is everything ok.

Tom

My problem was fixed by upgrading to the latest version of Acronis Home 2010. At the same time, I detected that one of my RAM sticks was bad. I think the error was likely from the RAM rather than the older version of Acronis.
