Unsupported Network Interface Controllers

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

We use Acronis True Image 2009 OEM. We have this running on a PXE boot so machines can connect using the boot from LAN option. to then grab an image from our image server.

Now and then we will get new releases of hardware (laptops and desktops) where we find that we cannot boot to Acronis True Image 2009 OEM due to what we belive is new unsupported NIC drivers .

The only way we have got around this in the past is to get a new version of true image by either waiting for a new release or in some cases we have been given a beta release.

I asume others experience this issue and what i am wondering is are there other ways to overcome this problem or do we have to wait for new releases?

My colleague tells me that in theory we could squirt the drivers in but its a lengthy process which we are not 100% sure with.

Hope you can help!

Melvin

Hello Melvin!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this question! I completely understand the issue and will be glad to help you.

Unfortunately Acronis True Image 2009 officially doesn't support PXE boot, but we can anyway test a workaround: extract ramdisk.dat and kernal.dat and update PXE with it.

In order to obtain these files I just sent the request to the Experts team. It may take time, but I believe that we will have these files available in 1-2 days. Is it ok for you to wait?

As soon as I have these files I will immediately send them to you.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
