Operations are in progress, please wait - Acronis 2016

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone,

I am new here.

I know some of you might have already seen this issue.

I am using Acronis Ture Image 2016 V6569, V6027 and v5634 on some of my computers.

I have not created a schedule backup, only use it for manual backup, however randomly I am getting the “Operations are in progress, please wait” screen when I am trying to shut down my pc.

I have tried leaving it for 3 days and it still doing the same thing. The only way is to hold the power button and kill the computer this way.

Does anyone know if there is a fix to this?

Many thanks in advance.

Version 6569 is supposed to have addressed the issue, I take it the machine giving you issue is using an previous version?   If yes, update to version 6569 and see if that solves it.

Sorry for jumping in.

It fixed it on my Windows 10 machines but I still have the problem on Windows 7.

I still did not fix my issue : (

@ Donald

Do you mean disabling the "Acronis Scheduler2 Service" from the service task or is it called somthing else?

If you disable that service, scheduled backups will not run if you have them configured.  Have you tried running the cleanup tool (see below this post in my signature - a new one specifically for 2016 just came out) and then reinstalling fresh using the latest download from your online account to see if things are in working order after that?

@ Bobbo,

At the moment I don’t have any scheduled backups but I will try doing a clean-up using cleanup tool. Hope this will help me solve this issue.

Thanks for your help, I will be back to update this. If anyone has any more suggestion on a fix you are most welcome too

Same issue here, always getting the "operations in progress" screen literally every time I shut my computer down, whether there is a process running or not. The computer always shuts down after a minute or so, but the message happens every time.

yeahyehyeah are you on v6569 as well?  If so, did you upgrade from earlier versions and did the problem exist before upgrade or now just after upgrade.  Please also submit feedback through the app, attach a system report and reference this thread in your feedback submission.

I will have a look first thing tomorrow and will let you know. Thanks for the quick response.

Just went ahead and checked, and I am indeed on v6569. I wish I could remember if it happened before the upgrade, but I do not really remember which came first. I will submit a system report and will reference the thread. Thanks!

Yes, at least it worked yesterday.

The latest update stopped this problem on my Win10 machines but not my Win7 machine. As was mentioned, this will disable scheduled backups until Acronis fixes the problem.

Hello all,

If you still experience issues with delayed system shutdown, please take a look at the following thread. If the issue still persists, please send us Acronis System Report as a feedback.

Thank you,
