True Image 2016 Build 6569 Not Backing up

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I recently updated my True Image 2016 to build 6569.  Since then it has not completed a backup (its set to backup once a day).  3 weeks and counting without a backup.

I've tried running a manual backup and it simply displays "Calculating time remaining..." for hours and never updates the progress bar.

This all used to work, but now it doesn't do the one task it was purchased for.  Looking for any help.

Running on Windows 10 x64.

Thanks,

Matt.

Hey Matt,

You say you recently updated to TI2016, does that mean you had an earlier version installed?  If you did, you might try to remove the version under add/remove programs and do a clean download/install.

EDIT:

Sorry forgot to mention running the cleanup tool Cleanup Tool (ATIH 2010-2016) https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 after you uninstall!!

This is what the logs look like every day:

Yes I had an earlier build installed.  The update was done via the built in update function.

Will running this cleanup tool delete my backup tasks?

Yes unfortunately it starts over from the beginning BUT since nothing seems to work now, nothing lost except the work to rebuild the tasks, when I was first having problems, I got really good at redoing tasks!

Seems like a bad product issue to me, but thank you for your help.  I'll give reinstalling it from scratch a go.

If your currnt build is working and you don't need updated drivers I don't recommend upgrading to the latest build. I tried to upgrade my WHS 2011 machine and never could get it to connect to the cloud properly. It was even worse when I tried to do a clean install of build 6569. I finally gave up and went back to build 6027. All nine of my machines are on build 6027.

Hi Matt,

Upgrades have been reported as an issue for v6559 and v6569 - mostly due to antivirus blocking the installer from completing for a false positive - I'm sure there are other reasons as well - especially since the upgrade doesn't seem to check if backups were already scheduled or in progress when the upgrade is launched.  I myself, did not have this issue, but has been reported by several others.  As the update probably didn't complete correctly, I'd upvote for a clean install as well.  I have 3 machines running 6569 without issue and all of them upgraded from 6027.  The difference for me was that 1) I had no issue with using Malwarebytes and Windows Defender in tandum on these machines 2) I never upgrade while the app is in use and always grab the update from my online account.  I then close down Acronis, run the installer by right click and "run as admnistrator" and things seem to be working fine.  I've gotten in the habit of doing this for most appication installs/upgrades though as "upgrades" just don't go as planned sometimes and this process seems to really minimize unexpected behavior, not just with Acornis upgrades, but in general software upgrades too.

I just downloaded the full installer for 6569 and ran it in repair mode.  My backups are back!

Thanks everyone for your help.

Glad to hear it!
