After years of running smoothly one of my machines began reporting "file is read-only" a few seconds after commencing a backup to the Cloud.

I have tried creating a new backup to the cloud with only one file selected- still says read-only

I have tried removing the scripts in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts- no change

I have tried renaming C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup and recreating the backups- still says "read-only"

On this machine the backup to a local NAS box works fine. It is only the cloud backup that shows the error.

My Acronis True Image Cloud subscription is current; most screens show my expiry date is May next year. One screen in the "Storage State" area shows my expiry is May 2016 (last month).

I am running TI Cloud 2016. I notice that my Cloud storage is reported to contain 500 Gb of data. This machine has only 10 Gb of data for backup. I have used the cleanup tool but it found only 1 Gb of old files to remove.

Do any of the experts have a suggestion, please?

Peter, you will need to contact Acronis Support for Cloud issues as we have no visibility of the servers etc to help with issues.  See article: 18623: How to get Technical Support: Tips, Tricks and Useful Information

The only other suggestion is to download the Log File Viewer App and see if there are any messages in the logs for this task that may offer any clarification on the read-only notice?

Well, after about two hours online I got a response to the effect that "this is a known problem and our engineers are working on it." I now have to recreate my backup and send it all again. Over a 400 kbps connection that will take weeks. I just hope that I don't need to restore any files in that time.
