Triue Image 2016 installation failure

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image 2016 3 PC version. This was an upgrade from True Image 2015. I installed fine on the first computer, but got an installation failed error when installing on the second computer. I am using Windows 10.

I first uninstalled True Image 2014. Next I downloaded True Image 2016 Build 6571 full version, then double clicked on the downloaded exe file. Installation seemed to be going well until the very end, when I got an installation failed error. I even tried installing under Admin login and also disabled smart firewall in norton 360. Still got Installation failed error.

Does anyone have a suggestion what to try next. Can I try installing the trial version instead and enter my product key before it expires.

Daniel,

Run the cleanup utility...link below.

Thank You for that suggestion and link to the Cleanup Utility. I ran Cleanup and it solved my problem. I did not need to change the Registry as none of the listed strings was present.

I want to share another of my experiences with the Forum. In January 2016 I received a new Precision 3620 workststion computer from Dell and ran into disk read errors when attempting a backup with Acronis True Image 2016. After extensive troubleshooting I was able to determine the most likely cause was an incompatibilty between True Image 2016 and a Dell Watcgdog Timer utility. When I uninstalled WDT from my system, Acronis True Image 2016 full backup ran without a hitch and I was able to use the Acronis image TIB file to restore all my work onto a replacement computer that Dell sent me.
