Unable to reinstall Acronis True Image Home

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I've recently installed Acronis diagnostic tool Drive monitor and noticed that this effected my installation of Acronis True Image Home
.
The first thing that I noticed is that my scheduled tasks that I entered in True Image home failed to
run. They did not appear any more in the True Image task pane.
I suspect Acronis Drive Monitor to be the cause of these symptoms. So I deinstalled Drive Monitor and then tried a reinstallation of True Image Home which failed.
Then I tried to deinstall True Image Home which failed also, however there is no entry of True Image Home in Windows Software control panel.
When I attempt to do a reinstallation of Acronis True Image Home I get the following error:

E00640003: The error occured during Installation
Installation encountered error #1610:
Configuration of this product is damaged. Pleas contact support.

I assume that a complete deinstallation of Acronis product might be solve the
problem. However all my attempts failed so far.

Appreciate any help on how to troubleshoot.

Thanks
Bodo

Hello bvu007!

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us! I understand your concern and will be glad to help!

Most probably the cause of the issue was not Acronis Drive Monitor, but some glitch in Acronis True Image Home 2010 Scheduler.

There are several possible solutions for repairing the product. I'd suggest you to run the installation file first and choose "Repair" option.

In case it helps, and you can start the product, please,

  1. Download the Scheduler Manager, run it and issue the following command:
    task zap
    It will remove all the traces of tasks
  2. Download Acronis Scheduler Update and run it. It will automatically update the service.
    See if the issue persists. In case it does, proceed with the step 3 and 4
  3. Reboot the machine
  4. Recreate the tasks

This should help to resolve the issue.

Should the Repair option fail to help, please follow these steps:

* Download Acronis Clean-Up utility
* Please uninstall Acronis True Image Home 2010 from the Add/Remove programs
* Please run the downloaded CleanUp Utility
* Please choose to delete all Acronis products from the system;
* You will be asked to close Windows Explorer instances since this is necessary to remove the tishell.dll and timounter.dll Acronis files, which interact with explorer.exe;
* You will be also asked to reboot the system to complete the uninstallation. You can reboot the system later.

Install the latest build of the product and check whether the issue persists.

I would appreciate if you could keep us posted regarding this issue, so that we could provide you with further assistance if required.

Thank you!

thanks Yana for your support.

I followed your suggestions and I run the Acronis Clean-Up utility first.
However after a reboot, Windows terminates with a stop x07B blue screen error.

I was able to reinstall my windows boot partition from an Acronis image file and my
system is runing fine now.

I'm curious on any options to create a bootable Acronis True Image Home
USB stick or device drive?
Could you please post some advices on how to achieve this.

Thanks in advance
Bodo
