[SOLVED] Backup job / consilidation fails after upgrading from ATIH 2016 to 2017

I am getting this on my ASUS T200 laptop as well to a NAS share.  Are the backups still usable?  I have not attempted a restore yet as this system has an embedded eMMC flash hard drive and did not want to attempt a restore on the only internal disk just yet.  At some point, i'll take an offline backup directly to a UsB drive as a precaution, but have been too busy to attempt a full restore "for fun" these past couple of weeks.

is there any fix for this? I wasn't able to make a successful backup of my main system since the time of the upgrade. If there is no fix in sight, I consider to downgrade for the moment. Thanks for your reply. Initially my idea to upgrade my productive system was to provide more information for the beta, outside of VMs that cannot be restored with ATIH.

Karl, fix is planeed for the release version of Acronis True Image 2017.

Of course, removing beta version of the software from productive system makes a lot of sense.

I have solved this otherwise. I deleted all backups of that job and from then, the backup worked fine. So in fact it was not a problem of wrong permissions or sorts.

I am still on 2017 beta at the moment but unfortunately had no time to contribute further in the past weeks.

Karl, I just started getting this again on a previously working backup.  I moved the old backups off to another disk, valdiated to clean those out of the database and let it start a new full.  The new backup is not giving any errors, but consolidation is not do to start for 3 version chains so will be another month before it occurs.  What I'm finding is that the logs show the successful backup, but then errors out when the cleanup is supposed to be occurring.  As you found, the backup files themselves are usable, but because of the consolidation error, it reports a failed backup and continues to try and run the backup again and again.  It is also ignoring the backup time i've set to wait until trying the  next backup when this occurs (I've set to a couple of hours, but continues to try every couple of minutes).  If you get to the point where consolidation is supposed to occur again, see if this messages comes back or not with your new task.

as reported the issue was gone after I've deleted all tib files from this job. Somehow the issue reappeared after some backups. But else it does behave exactly like you described it. It does repeat the backup over an over while the tib files seem to be valid, just the consolidation fails. I've never had that issue before upgrading to the 2017 beta, which is expiring by now.

haven't seen this again, so far but it is still under investigation for me. Need more upgraded ATIH 2017 b5534 installations to be sure before mark this as solved.

So far, so good for me.  I purposely set consolidaiton to occur after 1 incremetnal and only maintain 1 version chain to speed the process up on some VM's.  Consolidation seems toe working and allowing the backups to complete as intended now. I feel satisifed it has been resolved, but detinitely make sure it is working the same for you too!
