I have the following computer:

AMD Phenom quad core, 8Gb RAM;

HDD1: 750Gb b, partitioned as follows:

C:/  375Gb Partition, Primary, Active, w XP Pro x64, DD Suite 10 (build 2160), OSS

D:/ 375Gb Partition, Logical

HDD2: 500Gb, partitioned as follows

F:/ 250Gb Partition, Primary, Logical, Active, No OS

G:/ 250Gb Partition, Logical

Question 1)

If desired, can I create a dual boot via XP Pro x64 and Win 7 Pro x64 via OS Selector? I was thinking to install W7 on partition D. I have read about a lot of issues, etc., etc.. Am experiencing a little info overload here. If so, best/recommended approach?

Question 2)

If desired, can I create a dual boot via XP Pro x64 and Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2 x64 via OS Selector? I was thinking to install Win Server 20303 on partition D. I have read about a lot of issues, etc., etc.. Am experiencing a little info overload here. If so, best/recommended approach?

Question 3)

Assuming any of the above is do-able with my version of DD or OSS, would it be possible to install the second OS on the active partition of HDD2 (logical drive F: ? If so, what is the recommended approach?

Just trying to do as much research as possible before trying anything. Measure twice, Cut once.....

When doing multiple installations of Windows, I've found it best to keep as many as possible on Primary partitions. Each Windows is installed with its partition set Active and the other Windows partitions set hidden. It's also less problematic if you can keep them on the booting drive, though it usually will work okay on other drives (if installed correctly).

If you plan to install Windows to a Logical partition, there are certain steps that must be done before and after to make it work correctly. Windows won't install correctly directly to a Logical partition.

Windows 7 is not currently automatically detected by OSS. Windows 7 entries must be manually added to the BOOTWIZ.OSS file. I don't know about Windows Server 2003.
