BSOD 7B after Deinstallation of TI 10

Thread needs solution

I used TI 10 without problems a long time.

Today I installed DD 11. After this TI don't works, missing modules...
An Repair-Installation doesn't change this.
So I deinstalled TI and must do an reboot.
Now all Boots failed with an BSOD Stop 7B (0xBA4CB524, 0xE, 0x0, 0x0),
in normal mode as safe mode too.

What must I do? I need my PC!!

Do you have an image backup from before you installed DD 11 that you can restore?

You may need to remove/uninstall TI 10 before you install DD 11 (as far as I know, they are not compatible).

no, thats the problem, i don't have an image.
My HDD with my images is erroneous, that was the reason to install DD 11,
for diagnostics.
After I changed the backup HDD I tried to make an backup and then TI doesn't run.
Then I deinstalled it and now no Bootings.

If there are so much incompatibilities Acronis MUST normaly check the versions
before installation!

I must now become knowledges about the registry entries, so that I can correct
it by an PE system!

I'd try using Windows restore to get back to before the DD install. IF that works, then uninstall ati 2010 then install DD then install ATi.

For extra safety, I'd use msconf.exe to diable all non-microsof tservices and all astartup programs before any installs or uninstalls of ATI or DD. Teh use msconfig again to restore all services and startup programs after all installs are done.

You can get instructions here:

Mea culpa -- Brain failure on my part. you can't use win restore if you can't boot :( . And I'm guessing you don't have a win boot CD to do a restore from either.

There should be a big red flag onthe DD product that says Unisntall ATI prior to installing this product. ATI may be reinstalled afterwards. IF you install DD after installing ATI. Uninstall DD, then uninstall ATI, then reinstall DD then reisntall ATI.

Anyhow, for the record: Windows has a built in Resotre feature (its more like a background backup feature as implemented in Vista and W7) that can restore a drive to an earliler condition or, in the case of XP, at least restore the in-use drivers and system files to a prior condition.

- I have an PE Cd, so I'm able to make changes on the corrupted Win, but I dön't know what to do...
- I donloaded the DD, so I don't saw any red flag
- how should I restore the drivers to an prior cond.? Do you mean the XP Repair-Installation, forget it, taht doesn't work correct.

There is no red flag, but there should be. Expect a fix for this compatiblity issue between ATI and DD in the upcoming pay-to-upgrade versions. ATI usually comes out around september.

RE repair, A Repair Install will replace the system files with the files on the XP CD used for the Repair Install. It will leave your applications and settings intact, but Windows updates will need to be reapplied. I don't know if you can initiate this from the PE disk since it's not an installer but a mini version of the OS that can run from the samll amount of code that fits on a CD.

I know what the Reapair Install should done!
But I tried an Repair Install. for a long time, after that nohting (!) works correct.
I think my Installation is to big for that.
I can't do this.

Rep-Install. works only from thr original Win Inst.-CD.

There must be an way to repair the registry of the currupted Win by the running Win of the PE. But therefore I must know, what or where in the registry (I think its a registry problem).

It's not clear to me which version of TI is being used. The thread started with TI 10 and then Scott switched to TI 2010. As far as I know, DD 11 is not compatible with TI 10. It is supposed to be compatible with the latest build of TI 2010 (7,046).

You can usually fix the BSOD by either modifying the registry or replacing the snapman driver so you can get back into Windows. Either can be done from a WinPE CD. You'd have to load the System hive and edit the ControlSet001 values.

These threads/articles may help:

More snapman.sys and StorageProtect Desktop

Thanks very much, indeed thats was what I needed!!!!!

In my case I must delete the value snapman from the key LowerFilters in
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

(the file snapman.sys in \drivers was not deleted, but it was the version 3.9.0.534 installed by DD 11)
