Cannot installe Acronis Backup and Recovery 10

Thread needs solution

I keep getting the attached error message immedietely when I run the Backup and recovery tool.

The installer that I downloaded is called:

BackupRecovery.10287_s_uk.exe

Without success I have tried the following:

  • Running it on two different XP Pro machines
  • Running it on Windows Server 2003
  • Re-downloading the installer
  • Downloading and installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable

Thank you for choosing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

First of all, please make sure you use the latest build of the software (11105).

You can download all necessary files from update section in your account.

If you have not registered your product on our web site yet, we recommend to do it in order to receive free updates.

- Choose Product registration
- Enter the serial number for your Acronis product in the corresponding field.

If this does not help, please do the following in order to collect the information:

1. Acronis Info
- Download the file from http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisInfo.exe;
- Run the downloaded file
- Send us the files created.
The gathered information will be put in adv_report.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.
Running AcronisInfo may take up to 5 minutes.

2. Dump file:

- Reproduce the issue (application crash);
- Do not close the "Application has stopped working" window;
- Run Task Manager (press Ctrl-Shift-Esc buttons);
- Go to "Processes" tab and right-click on the crashed process;
- Select "Create Dump File" item from the menu;
- Pick up the .DMP file created and send it to us;
- Open Start->Run (or press Windows-R buttons) type "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive" string without quotes and hit Enter key
- After that you will see a folder (or a few folders), the name of which starts with "Report"
- Please send us Report.wer file from the last created folder
Please note that you may add the two collected files into rar or zip archive file.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the issue appears and the link to this thread. We will do our best to investigate the problem and provide you with a solution.
