Error not last known archive, can't restore back up to new hard drive

Thread needs solution

1. had the winload.exe blue screen of death (says locked hard drive) can't fix even with a usb windows boot disk.

2. had a number of *.tib I've been backing up to an external drive.

3. using boot media to boot to true image 2015 when I try to restore to existing disk or a new hard drive I get a error message to the effect that this is not the last know volume archive backup and true image then quits the restore. As far as I can recall these were full backups done once a week.  All have a *.tib extension.

4. not sure where to go from here and I don't want to have reinstall windows again.

Thanks,

Marty

Marty...welcome to these user forums.

I believe you should boot using rescue media, then "Validate" the .tib file you want to restore.  If you get any error messages, just hit "Ignore" if Ignore is an option, or hit "Cancel" if "Ignore" is not an option.  If the .tib file validates, then you should be able to restore it.

Hope this works for you.
