jnq...welcome to these user forums.

ATI 2017 rebooting cable modems is a known issue.  Please refer to the following link which may help you resolve the problem.

https://forum.acronis.com/forum/125182

I never had any issue of this king wirh all the previus version. So make an update to solve it.

jnq, please understand that this is purely a user forum and we, like you, are just other users with no direct influence over Acronis support and development.

Please open a support ticket with Acronis Support to flag that you are another user who has hit this same problem and that you are expecting them to produce a fix for this as a matter of some urgency.

If you are using the Windows Firewall on your computer, then download and run the batch command file from KB document: 58630: Acronis True Image 2017: Internet Connection Lost At Acronis True Image Startup - this will configure Windows Firewall to block the outgoing UDP ports for the Acronis programs that cause this problem.

If you are using a different firewall product, then you have a choice, you can either manually configure the same firewall rules in your firewall, or you can enable the Windows Firewall via the Control Panel and use this in tandem with your firewall.

Steve please understand that i am a computer aanalyste and ingenior. So it not to the client to do the job. There were no problème with all the previus version. So acronis must do an upadte. Bye.

If you use symantec norton internet seucrity edit programm controle rule for trueimage.exe and block udp protocol for all port in and out.

I anderstand but do you want a class action against acronis and you in france ?

jnq, this is an issue that only Acronis Development can ultimately resolve - we can not do so ourselves other than to try to help individual users to deply the workaround of configuring Firewall rules to prevent the problem until such time as Acronis produce a hotfix or new build update that includes the fix for this problem.

The MVP's, including myself, do not work for Acronis or get paid by them - we are just users like yourself who offer our time and experience to other users.

Dear steve i know what you are. That is not the probleme.

In france when you buy a product there is law that protect the consumer against vice in prduct like software. The bug of adp communication protocol is of this kind and it is a security risq and a attack technic for the consummer and user.

So acronis must do an update. If not ther coudl have a class action against acronis.

Final word here.

jnq, I understand.

From KB 58630: Acronis True Image 2017: Internet Connection Lost At Acronis True Image Startup

Cause

Issue in the product, occurring in specific (not all) environments.

More information

The issue is expected to be resolved in the next update for Acronis True Image 2017. Make sure to enable automatic check for updates at program startup so that you do not miss it when it becomes available:

The above confirms for me that Acronis know there is an issue here and are working to resolve this in the next update for ATIH 2017.

JNQ,

This is the user forum (even us with MVP badges - were just users like you). Please reach out directly to Acronis technical support for this issue is you are not satisifed with the product or services provided.

Not that it matters one way or another since we're all users here and not employees (or legal experts), but a class action lawsuit for a bug in an application that currently has a fix/work-a-round and a company that is not based in France?  I'm sure you're within your rights to file such a claim, but good luck with that.

You'd be better off using the provided work-a-round or requesting a refund.   No one is forcing you to use the product.  Also, not only is Acronis not a French company, but you might want to look at the EULA with regards to what you've "agreed" to when you use the product.  These types of clauses are standard in all software applications.
