Installed on new machine - it doesn't save my settings - why?

Thread needs solution

When I close ATI 2016 it says my settings will be lost, why ?

I've installed ATI 2016 Cloud on a new machine. I've entered the license key successfully. On startup, iIt says my cloud subscription has expired, which is true. But I never used acronis cloud. On the user tab it says "activation was successful". But when I try to close the main window it says someting like "if you leave this window your settings will be lost" (I've got a german installation)

What's wrong?

Best regards

Oliver

Oliver, welcome to these user forums.

Please can you clarify exactly which version of ATIH 2016 you have here?

In your post above you say it is the Cloud edition, if so, this is a subscription edition and once your subscription ends then the product becomes non-functional after 30 days, i.e. you cannot make any new backups - an expired subscription version will only allow you to recover an existing backup (one made while the subscription was active / backup stored locally).  Any backups or data stored in the Cloud is deleted after the 30 days expire.

The alternative version of ATIH 2016 is the Perpetual license version, where you may have been given 30-day of free Cloud to try it out, but the full functionality of the product remains for as long as the program will still work on the version of Windows where it is installed and activated.

The message "if you leave this window your settings will be lost" is normally only seen when you are creating a new task and have not clicked on the 'Backup now' button which will save the task configuration settings.  If you don't want to perform the new backup immediately, then you can click on the arrow to the right of the 'Backup now' button where you will see further options to Backup in 1, 2, 4, 6 Hours or to Backup Later.  If you click on the option to Backup Later, the backup settings will be saved and you can either run the task manually, or else wait for it to run when scheduled.
