Cannot boot restored drive

Thread needs solution

I recently updated from 11.5 on Windows 8.1 to 11.7 on Windows 10.

I use Acronis Backup on one machine. Any drives I need to backup and restore I connect by SATA to USB connector. I have always been able to restore a drive and boot to it on the same hardware without any extra steps.

With 11.7 on Windows 10, the drive restores, all of the data is there. But they won't boot and repairing with a startup disk doesn't fix the issue.

I'm dead in the water right now because I have built base images for each of our model of PCs but I can't use any of them now. HELP!

Hi Eric,

can you check if the MBR is written to the disk correctly?

There is a KB addressing this particular issue: 50102: Acronis Backup 11.7/11.5: Recovered Machine Is Unbootable when Selected for Recovery from Vault View
