Options mostly will not 'Stick'

Thread needs solution

7 times out of 10 I have to redo my options even though I click 'Save as Default'. This has been happening the last few weeks, before that it was OK.

Hi Peter, I would guess that we would need a lot more details here to know exactly what you are setting as options, then saving as default, and then not seeing being preserved, plus what, if any, other changes to the same or other tasks you are making between setting these options as default and then finding that they haven't 'stuck'.

I haven't experienced any issues in this area but then the only options that I set as default tend to be limited to my Notification email settings and my Error handling settings.

Is there any chance that any of your tasks date from previous versions of the product?  Just wondering if there is anything in the .TIS Script file for the task configuration that may be in play here?

Thank you Steve,

I only make full images a couple of times a week. I click 'Do not schedule', Backup Scheme is 'Custom and backup method is 'Full', Notifications works perfectly when I tick 'Send Test message', I accept default 'Exclusions' and tick 'Validate backup when it is created' and then click 'Save as Default'. But next time I have to enter all this data again, maybe a reinstall is called for?

The Save as default only applies to scheduled tasks that a user creates.  Non scheduled  tasks require complete option configuration for each time used.

Not sure that my experience supports that the save as default only applies to scheduled tasks, as I hardly use scheduled tasks on my laptops because of them being moved around, but I have definitely used the save as default on these systems and the information has been retained / used for new tasks I have created.

I have tended to stick to just setting up a specific Options page tab as I want it, then using Save as default for that one page, clicking on OK then going back in and doing the same for another page - a bit long winded but seems to have worked for me.

I'll have to try that method Steve, I think your on to something there.  I just have never had any luck trying to save anything unscheduled, possibly due to thinking I needed to save the whole task definition.
