Troubles understanding backing up SQL and Exchange
Hi all,
i'm not familiar with database and Exchange backup using Acronis. Maybe you guys could assit me with the following, thanks a lot in advance.
A new customer is runnning Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 (Advanced Server SBS). In the Windows Server Softwarelist (Installed Programs), all that is installed is this:
Agend Core
Agend for Windows
Management Console
The backup results in one giant .tib which i can browse by double clicking on it.
I am wondering how a valid Exchange and SQL backup is currently maintained at all. Aren't there special tasks and special agends need to be processed and installed in order to backup a SQL database or restore Exchange database or even eMails in a account? Is there a way to check if any of this is working at all?
Thanks a lot.

Thanks a ton Raphael for this introduction. Yes i was a bit concerned since i learned about the newer versions of Acronis with the seprate SQL agends and such.
OK full restore is a bummer, especially since there is no hardware around at all. I will take this into concideration. Thank you.
