Tape after backup stays in drive not going back to slot.

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Fresh install of Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 Update 1 (build 11.7.50058) on Windows 2008 R2 with Tape library Quantum Scalar i40 FC

Vaults created with tape using two drives. Agent installed on one test PC, selected two directories about 6GB.

Task created to backup, after one or two cyles with status = OK, tape don't come back from drive to slot.

Status from quantum web client - tape in slot. Status in Acronis tape managment: tape location: drive.

After starting "inventory" from tape managment tape goes to "slot" location.

Quantum firmware and IBM tape drives are latest relased.

Any idea what is going on ? Trial versions of other backup solutions companies starting with letter S..... or A.... are working without any problems with Quantum so the hardware and drivers of tape library are not the problem :( ...

Hello Piotr,

This requires an investigation in the actual tape commands used and how they are working with your device.

I would recommend contacting our support for this issue.

Hi,

Now I'm 100% sure that the problem is with (drive -> slot) and (slot -> drive) process.

When I have removed from task in options->tape managment -> Move a tape back to the slot after using

Everything was working without any problems , I have looped two jobs 100 cycles always sucess.

Checking back option "Move a tape back to the slot after using" after two or three jobs I have same problem again.

In Acronis tape location: drive , in quantum web client and physically - tape in slot...

Igor can You please forward/give me a contact to support ?

Thanks !
