How do you increase the size of the Boot partion?

Thread needs solution

I have just purchased an SSD disk to replace the boot disk that was supplied with the PC when I purchased it.

As the orginal disk was only 120Gb and was easily filled up I purchsed a 1Tb SSD.

I used the Clone method and Automatic option and selected the apropriate disks, but when you get to Finish before proceeding the boot volume is still only 119Gb.

How do I clone the destination with a single partion of 895Gb (approx) bootable partition?

Tony, welcome to these user forums.

Please see KB document: 48386: Acronis True Image 2015: Cloning Disks and follow the steps that are shown in the section Cloning from Acronis bootable media which should automatically resize your partitions from the 120GB drive to fit your 1TB SSD drive.

Cloning should only be done from the bootable media and not from within Windows which can lead to other problems.

See also KB document: 1540: Difference between Backup and Disk Clone which is a safer, alternative method of doing the same migration from the smaller drive to the new large drive.  You should always make a full disk backup of the source drive before doing this type of action.
