Acronis Loader Failure NTFS Message after Rebooting Vista
Ok, I dont know what the deal is that all of a sudden DD10 doesnt want to work, even after being "repaired", "uninstalled" then "reinstalled".
But the problem i am getting after a un-install is the dreaded message that pops up immediately after rebooting citing something to the effect "Acronis Loader" fatal error, press "enter" to proceed to o.s.
A little background:
1) I noted a problem with the OS selector during reinstalls. a) would cite no o.s.'s found. b) but when it searched for o.s. it found 2, so i selected the active o.s. since the second one is just a clone. after install then reboot c) no entry in msconfig startup with acronis os selector.
2) After re-installs i'd get the messages from acronis that it couldnt find its modules.
So i decided to stop wasting my valuable time on a software that probably was designed with a time bomb.
3) after un-installing then rebooting, the dos message pops up "Acronis Loader OS failure" hit "Enter" to proceed to os .
So now im in the o.s. and did a google on this issue and now i am on this forum asking, "How to remove this error message that is irrelevant since my expensive Acronis DD10 no longer wants to work on Vista" ?
PS: the acronis os selectro reinstall service is still cited in Admin Services but disabled.
Thank you

Hi Ben,
Glad you got it figured out! If you do stick with Acronis, make sure to check into the last release date of the product before you purchase. I personally can't recommend DD to anyone since support has been very far apart (last release in December 2015). I've been using True Image Home and Snap Deploy 5 for a few years now and have been very happy with it. However, it has it's own qwerks, and being familiar with the product and your own bios settings/capabilities will go a long way.
If you primarily need a paritioning tool - try the free version of Minitool Partition Wizard free - it is more than adequate and levels above what Windows is capable of.
If you do look to upgrade your backup product down the road, True Image Home is probably the way to go. There are many free backup tools these days as well - some are also quite capable and I use a couple as supplemental backup tools to Acronis (just in case - my data is important to me and am not comfortable relying on any one product, scheme or location - I use a few prodcuts, a few different backup locations and use a fewe different backup types - offline and online as well as full, incremental and differential to local drives, usb drives, NAS drives and the cloud).
True Image has been really good for me though and I have not problem recommending it, as it's my go-to for backup and recovery.
