Authentication issue when trying to back up to BTHomeHub USB drive

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am trying to back up to a drive attached to the USB socket on my BTHomeHub6. The drive is mapped on my PC without issue. Acronis sees it when I type in the direct route, but it has problems when it comes to authentication.

I have confirmed with BT what the login and password are but the Athentication fails. I only plan to do incremental backups over wifi.

Has anyone got this to work?

Regards,

Dazzer

Dazzer, I cannot help directly with this question as I am not a BT customer (my own ISP is VirginMedia and I have a cable modem/router with no such USB capability).

There looks to be some issues with using USB drives with the BT HH5 from doing a search on Google.

See webpage: Connecting external Hard Drives to Home Hub 5 though the issues being raised here would suggest that the HH5 has issues if trying to connect drives over 2TB in size, no mention of authentication issues.

See KB document: 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials which may offer some ideas you can follow.

What version do you have installed as well? There's a NAS bug if you have mapped drives in Windows too in 5554. There's a hot fix in parch for that until the next update or , if you have access to the more current NG it's also fixed in a hat one.

Resolution

  1. Replace TrueImage.exe and ti_managers.dll with fixed versions
