Restore Multiple Mac and Win partitions to a new SSD

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have an issue restoring correctly my backup.
When my backup was created it saved the following partitions:
1. EFI 200 MB aprox
2. MAC_OS_X 158 GB aprox
3. System_Restore 650 MB aprox
4. Bootcamp 74 GB aprox

Now that I want to restore them I have to select the partitions where it will be restored, but my SSD is new with only one partition.

My question is:
Could it be possible to tell the software to restore the complete backup (with all 4 partitions) to the new SSD without the need to partitioning first with 3rd party software like Parted Magic?

Hi Oscar,

please erase the SSD drive just before restore:
- boot Mac with Acronis Bootable Media
- start Disk Utility
- erase your SSD:
select your SSD dirve -> click 'Partition' -> in 'Partition Layout' select '1 Partition' -> in 'Format' select 'Free Space' -> in 'Options' select 'GUID-Partition table' -> click 'Apply'
- start Acronis True Image for Mac

Kind regards,

I have the same question with Sierra and Acronis 2017. No option in Partition Layout to Format Free space.

I don't use the Mac version of Acronis, so can't help you there.  However, in general, I would suggest creating a MacOS recovery installer and formatting your drive with that instead if that is what you're intending to do. Not only can you use this to format drives, but it can also repair or reinstall OS X for you too.

If the option is not available or not working in Acronis, you should contact Acronis tech support directly to verify with them if it is broken or not available in the current version.

Use the chat option and you'll be connected to someone almost instantly.  http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/contact-us.html
