Support for Backing up a Windows 10 bootable drive in a Windows 7 Environment

Thread needs solution

Trying to back up the main boot drive for a laptop that runs Windows 10.  The physical drive is removed from the laptop and inserted into a desktop that runs Acronis True Image 2015 under the Windows 7 operating system.  When I try to backup the laptop's drive, only two of the four partitions of the laptop's drive are visible to Acronis.  Is this a compatability issue with Acronis True Image 2015 or an issue specifically with running Acronis True Image 2015 under a Windows 7 operating system trying to back-up a Windows 10 bootable drive?

Thanks in advance.

Windows does not show all hidden paritions.  I'd suggest starting the backup with your Acronis bootable rescue media and taking an offline backup (one where Windows is not running). This should show you all partitions and allow you to confirm that they are included in the backup.

From within the Acronis GUI in Windows, you may also see hidden partitions on the drive in Acronis, by expanding the "full parition" list at the bottom of the screen (see screenshots)

Thank you, Bobbo_3C0X1! I completely missed the "Full Partition List" option, and the partitions now show up and are able to be backed up.

Good deal!  Yeah, it might help if Acronis moved that option higher up so it stood out more :) Now you know it's there though, easy-peasy.
