Trial Version Stuck Calculating...

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Yesterday I downloaded the trial version in the hopes that this software will be what I need for my backup solution. I followed the wiki and videos to setup the continous backup that I need. When I start the backup process it says "Backing up..." and "Calculating time remaining..." and seems to be stuck.

I am backing up the contents of an internal hard disk to a much larger external disk, both of which are new and have given no problem for the past weeks.

Please can you provide more information on your computer system, drive sizes, backup options chosen etc to help us better understand what your issue may be?

 "Backing up..." and "Calculating time remaining..." can be shown for some minutes depending on how busy your system is and how much free space you have etc.

From your comments, it seems that you have created a Non Stop Backup task - is this correct?

All backups that run within Windows will use the Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) to create snapshots of the data being backed up, this in turn requires a minimum of 10% free space on each partition being backed up.

With the latest build 8029 version of ATIH 2017, there are additional options for how snapshot is performed in the Advanced Settings page as described in KB 59440: Acronis True Image 2017: 'Snapshot for backup' option overview

I would recommend download a copy of the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) and checking for any messages shown in the logs for your backup task.
