Following steps were taken:

1.Tried with a few users all with appropriate rights ,same result.

2.did all of the following according to install guide:

Prepare remote machines for installation:
! Make sure you have ports 445, 9876 and 25001 open, see Using telnet to Test Open Ports; Installing on a Linux machine make sure that TCP port 22 is opened and that the SSH daemon is running.(port 9876\25001-work disabled domain firewall on machines by default, but port 9876 only responds after installatio nof agent, and 25001 doesn't seem to be used before\after)
Disable Simple file sharing on the remote machine:
Windows XP: Control panel -> Folder options -> View -> Use simple file sharing
Windows Vista or later: Control panel > Folder options > View > Use Sharing Wizard
! Enable File and Printer Sharing on the remote machine:
Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows 2003 Server: Control panel > Windows Firewall > Exceptions > File and Printer Sharing
Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or Windows 7: Control panel > Windows Firewall > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings
! Disable User Account Control (UAC) if the remote machine is not a member of an Active Directory domain.

3.manual installation works ok

would appreciate any tips

BR

David

Hi David,

Such problem may occur if you specify the login credentials for remote installation in "user@hostname" format instead of "hostname\user" (internal bug ID: ABR-103735). If this doesn't help, then please contact our support team for further assistance.

Thank you.

Are you able to connect to remote vm but then it fails when you try to install components? If so what are the components you try to install? For example agent for SQL/AD/MX can only be installed localy.
