Queued "for ever"

Thread needs solution

I want to backup an entire PC to a USB attached device.

I select backup Entire PC  to select the USB drive   Select start.

The USB drive changes to Custom destination folder  and the progress bar indicates Queued   but nothing happens for hours.  (the only availabe key is Stop.

Any advice??

Alistair, welcome to these user forums.

My first advice is to not use 'Entire PC' - click on this instead and it will show you other choices, choose Disks & Partitions instead and then just select your main Windows OS drive with all its partitions, including any hidden partitions.  Entire PC can include other drives that may be connected to your computer at the time that the backup runs.

Queued status would normally mean that you have another backup task that is active.

I would recommend downloading the Acronis Scheduler Manager (link below) and use this to clear any scheduled tasks in your system.

When you run the schedmgr.exe program, it will open a Command prompt type window.  Type the command get list which will show you a list of all existing tasks known to the scheduler.  You can clear this list by using the command task zap to remove all entries.

You will probably need to restart the computer to ensure that there is still no further active task.

Steve, you are awsome!

I've been plagued with tasks waiting indefinitely in queues until I finally found your posts re documents KB 1859 and 1518. Problem solved.

thanks
